Our Story
In 2015, Joe, a car dealer, knew there had to be a better way for car dealers to buy and sell wholesale vehicles. At a Buffalo start-up incubator he teamed up with Dan, a software developer, and the two collaborated over a folding table to solve a problem that had been plaguing the used car industry for generations. Together they created ACV Auctions, and on June 1, 2015 sold their first car on the platform.
Today, ACV is a platform that provides powerful technology-enabled capabilities to our dealer and commercial partners who fulfill a critical role in the automotive ecosystem.
